What Is the Referral Programme?
The BilaFundi referral programme rewards you for bringing new clients to providers on the platform. When a client you referred completes a transaction with a provider, you earn a commission — either a fixed amount or a percentage of the transaction value, depending on the provider's referral rate settings.
How to Refer a Client
- Go to /referrals from your dashboard to find your personal referral link.
- Share your referral link with potential clients via WhatsApp, email, or any other channel.
- When the client clicks your link and signs up or contacts a provider, the referral is tracked and attributed to you automatically.
How Commissions Are Calculated
Each provider on BilaFundi can set their own referral commission rate — either a fixed amount (e.g. KES 2,000 per referred client) or a percentage of the project value (e.g. 5%). The rates are visible at /referral-rates.
Your commission is calculated and recorded when the referred client completes a qualifying engagement with the provider. The exact terms — what constitutes a qualifying engagement — are set per provider.
Tracking Your Referrals and Earnings
Visit /referrals to see:
- All referrals you have made and their current status
- Total commissions earned to date
- Pending commissions awaiting confirmation
For Providers — Setting Your Referral Rate
Providers control their referral commission settings. A competitive rate incentivises more people to refer clients to your services. To set your rate, go to your provider settings and navigate to the Referrals section. You can choose:
- Fixed amount — a set payment per referred client who converts.
- Percentage — a percentage of the project or transaction value.
A higher referral rate means more advocates actively promoting your services — it is one of the most cost-effective marketing tools available to providers on the platform.
Payment of Commissions
Referral commission payments are coordinated directly between the referring party and the provider. BilaFundi tracks and records the commission amounts but the actual payment transfer is arranged off-platform. Ensure you have agreed payment terms with the provider before referring clients.
